For a period of 14th-17th of May, 2019, SE «KMBD» was presenting its innovative projects in the first in Ukraine Competition of Defense Technology Projects «Sikorsky Challenge», which took place in the KPI named after Igor Sikorsky, Kyiv.
The Competition was organized by SC «Ukroboronprom», the General Staff of the AFU, CSRI, "League of Defense Companies of Ukraine", the State Innovative Finance and Credit Institution, "Igor Sikorsky KPI", Science Park "Kyivska Polytechnika" and Innovation Holding "Sikorsky Challenge". There were selected 32 from 132 presented innovative projects, which were found to be the most useful and innovative in defense sphere.
Among the winning projects, there are the projects of our specialists: «Development and manufacture of an advanced sample of training complex (simulator) for armored vehicles» and the project «Development of a remote-controlled fighting ground-based robotic complex based on the BTR-4Е armored personnel carrier».
«In general, the State Concern «Ukroboronprom» supproted 32 projects. All of them will receive extensive support, both financial and technical, for implementation. For this, the funds of the dedicated fund, that created in the Concern, will be involved. In addition, there will be an ability to use experimental, test and work sites at the enterprises of «Ukroboronprom». We are maximally interested in turning the presented innovations into real products in the shortest time", – accented Serhiy Omelchenko, First Deputy Director General of the State Concern.
" The number of contestants and projects that have received real support demonstrates that our common initiative to create such a platform was absolutely correct. Going forwards, the competition of defense technologies "Sikorsky Challenge" will be held at least once a year.
At the same time, the possibility of holding similar competitions more often and thematically in scopes of the defense industry complex is being considered. This will make it possible to create an even more effective synergistic system of science, industry and the Ukrainian army, "said Mikhaylo Zgurovsky, rector of the Igor Sikorsky KPI.
